The first day we were home from Thanksgiving (Sunday), we went to the Getty Villa Museum in Malibu. Eric & Katie's Indian Princess tribe was having their meeting there. We got there and had a yummy lunch, then E & K went to meet with the tribe. While they were doing official tribe business, J & N and I walked around a bit.
It is a museum dedicated to Greek, Roman, and Etruscan art. The building is a replica of a Pompeiian villa. It is very unique and pretty!
We (and the other spouses and siblings) met up with the tribe after a little while in the Family Forum, which is an exploratory room with lots of activities about Greek vases. Then we picked up the cards that lead you on a treasure hunt of sorts, and the whole tribe/families set out to explore and find the "clues."
Then Nick and Julianna got antsy, so we went back to the Family Forum. They had a very loooooong attention span for one particular activity: drawing on vases. Greek vases have stories on them, and the kids get to decorate the vases with dry erase markers, wipe off, draw/write a new one, over and over!
